Another difficult day looms for the fast maritime connections between Messina, Calabria and the Aeolian Islands due to the adverse marine weather conditions, which have worsened since last night. In fact, a strong sirocco has been blowing for several hours, making the sea very rough and hindering the regularity of navigation services between the two banks of the Strait and towards the Aeolian archipelago.
Currently, almost all fast transport routes to Lipari, Vulcano, Salina and the other smaller islands departing from the ports of Messina and Milazzo are cancelled, as are the rapid connections between the shores of Messina and Reggio Calabria. However, no suspension has been recorded so far for the connections operated with ferries (Caronte & Tourist and Ferrovie dello Stato), which continue to guarantee the shuttle between Messina and Villa San Giovanni, ensuring territorial continuity despite the strong gusts of wind.
