The action to combat irregular work and to verify safety in the workplace by the soldiers of the Crotone Provincial Command continues. During an inspection service on a construction site located in the municipality of Belvedere di Spinello, the Carabinieri of the local station, supported by colleagues from the Labor Inspectorate Unit (NIL) and by a Technical Inspector of the Territorial Labor Inspectorate of Crotone, found serious violations of current legislation.
Illegal workers and criminal violations
The inspection made it possible to ascertain the presence of a worker who was not regularly employed. In addition to the use of illegal labor, further critical issues have emerged relating to compliance with the obligations to protect the health and safety of workers. For these reasons, the owner of the company was referred to the Judicial Authority for criminal violations related to sector regulations.
Sanctions and suspension of activity
The outcome of the operation, conducted under the coordination of the Crotone Public Prosecutor’s Office led by Prosecutor Domenico Guarascio, led to heavy economic and administrative consequences for the company. Suspension of business activity: the measure was taken immediately due to the seriousness of the violations found. Fines: high for a total amount of 5,553.81 euros. Administrative sanctions: imposed for a total of 6,400 euros.
