There is a new survey, commissioned by the South, calling on the North to the SWG company, to “incur” the electoral campaign in Messina. A survey that rewards the candidate for mayor of the South calls the North, Federico Basile, indicated as the favorite with a range between 50 and 54% of preferences, followed by the centre-right candidate, Marcello Scurria, with 23-27%, and the centre-left candidate, Antonella Russo, with 19-23%.
The outsiders, Gaetano Sciacca and Lillo Valvieri, are further behind, with ranges between 1 and 3%. Data which is also reflected in the approval with respect to the lists: 48% for the lists in support of Basile, 26% for the coalition in support of Scurria, 22.5% for the lists in support of Russo, the civic lists of Sciacca (1.5%) and Valvieri (1%) further away.
And to the question regarding Cateno De Luca, 34% responded that it would be better for him to take a step back, giving more space to Basile, while 33% would like him to continue to exert himself personally.
«We have always considered polls for what they are: a clue, not a certainty – comments Basile -. This is why we read them with balance, but also with awareness, because these numbers tell something clear: despite months of attacks and continuous attempts at denigration, Messina knows how to recognize the work we have done. It is not a point of arrival, it is a stimulus. An incentive to do even more, to commit ourselves even more, to not stop in this electoral campaign that is too denigrating for my tastes.”
