The participation of the Tropheum Karate Club Amateur Sports Association in the CSEN National Championship in Pescara brought important results and confirmed the growth of the club’s youth sector under the technical guidance of maestro Antonio La Torre. The kumite medals of Maria Laura Ortelio, U12 silver, and Domenico Pontoriero, bronze in the Boys category are highlighted, alongside a series of positive placings obtained by the other young athletes present at the event.
For Maria Laura Ortelio, the national silver comes in a period already particularly rich in results: in 2025 she had won six medals overall (five gold and one bronze), with three placings on the top step of the podium in kumite, while in the first four months of 2026, before the Pescara competition, she had already obtained three other medals in kumite, one for each step of the podium. Therefore, the CSEN national team receives a consecration of his qualities as a kumiteka.
Alongside her, taking home a bronze medal in kumite, Domenico Pontoriero also continued his path of growth: if last year he had already obtained a gold and two silvers in kumite and two bronzes in kata, for a total of five podiums, in the current season he has a gold and a bronze in kumite to his credit, which confirms continuity in his performances.

In addition to the two podiums of Ortelio and Pontoriero, the Tropheum group present in Pescara was made up of several young athletes, all capable of performing well, despite having to face an unexpected event, since all these results arrived in a situation that was not simple from an emotional and organizational point of view as the boys had to face the tests without the support on the tatami of their teacher Antonio La Torre, busy assisting the little athlete Amelia Ostone, who fell ill and was therefore forced to renounce participation in the national team to undergo checks. The group’s ability to maintain concentration and performance, despite the absence of their reference coach and with a teammate forced to stop, adds value to the overall balance of the trip.
Maestro La Torre therefore wanted to congratulate both his medal-winning athletes and those who still return home with a richer experiential baggage: first of all Tirsa De Seta and Viviana Costanzo, who came within a whisker of the podium with two fifth places, respectively in the Beginners’ kumite and in the U12 kata. Among others, Lorenzo Pontoriero finished with a seventh place in the Cadet kumite, Francesco Carmine Antonio Di Bella achieved a double ninth place in the Cadet kata and kumite, Chloe Tavella competed in the U12 kata and kumite competitions and Amedeo Loiacono competed in the U8 Path and Balloon.
«Overall – comments La Torre –, the results obtained in Pescara convey the image of a young but already competitive group, capable of tackling a national event with commitment and maturity». For the social technician, Tropheum Karate Club thus sees the work carried out in the training and sporting growth of its athletes confirmed, with a path that continues to translate into concrete placings and significant experiences for all the protagonists.
