The activity of the local police of Reggio Calabria continues unabated, engaged in recent days in a series of operations in the area which have led to significant results both in terms of security and urban decorum.

Over the last three days, officers have referred seven people to the judicial authorities. The alleged crimes concern, for various reasons, receiving stolen goods, embezzlement and illegal occupation of public properties.

The investigative activities also made it possible to ascertain how several owners of vehicles subjected to confiscation orders had fraudulently hidden or even demolished the vehicles, thus removing them from the availability of the State. At the same time, in terms of environmental protection and urban decorum, the local police identified and sent for scrapping around 15 vehicles abandoned in various areas of the city. The carcasses represented not only an element of degradation, but also a potential risk for the environment.

The intervention in the field of public residential construction is also important: the agents of the Viale Aldo Moro Command identified and reported a citizen for illegal occupation of a property. The accommodation was immediately vacated and returned to its rightful owner.

Finally, the action to combat the illegal abandonment of waste does not stop. In the last week, around 20 reports have been issued for violations of the union ordinance on the matter.
