Cosenza, between the field and the future. Waiting for Guarascio’s moves

The five points suffered by Casarano still echoes in the air. After the mathematical certainty of fourth place, many wondered who Cosenza’s opponent could be in the first national round, which saw the first leg matches played last night. Vito Di Bari’s team instead extinguished any illusion at the dawn of a journey that would have been difficult in any case. And so, now that the season is virtually over, before the federal dates, an important wait has begun for the vast majority of fans, that relating to a hypothetical club change. Eugenio Guarascio is the longest-serving president in the history of Cosenza but for supporters his time is considered over. The Parenti entrepreneur expressed his openness to a sale in two of the last three press releases released by the company in the space of a few days. An opening, however, which would seem to be only a façade. A group from Cosenza, coordinated by a local professional, is in fact interested in taking over the Bruzio club and is moving to deepen the discussion. A meeting should have taken place last week but for the moment Guarascio is taking his time.
An attitude that appears inconsistent with what is instead conveyed through the notes released. The next few weeks, therefore, will help to understand whether a real negotiation will come to fruition or will turn into another summer of waiting and fruitless fibrillations for those who hope for a change at the top. The passage of time is not an ally for those interested in purchasing Cosenza, between various tasks and the need to organize a sporting project in view of the next championship.
In all of this, important decisions risk remaining on stand-by, starting with decisions regarding the coach and sporting director. The rest will have to be taken care of in cascade. But there is a risk that once again all this could be decided in the dog days.
