“Our vision is not that of easy consensus. Our proposals are concrete and we only tell what can be done.” This was said by Arianna Meloni, head of the national political secretariat of Fratelli d’Italia, speaking in Reggio Calabria at the presentation of the list of candidates for the municipal elections of 24 and 25 May.

“The government at your side”

“Our program will be exactly what we intend to implement in this city from the next morning”, added Meloni, underlining that “the government will be at your side, together with the militants and all those people who are involved in politics even without public roles”.

“Reggio must be liberated”

In her speech, the FdI manager defined Reggio Calabria as “a splendid city, a natural crossroads of the Mediterranean, but one that needs to be liberated”, highlighting the value of a team “of men and women who put the community’s interest first”.

“For us, politics is mission, sacrifice and dedication, a policy free from compromise and close to citizens,” he added.

The Mattei Plan and the electoral campaign

To Francesco Cannizzaro’s proposal to nominate Reggio as the “Mission City of the Mattei Plan”, Meloni replied: “I will take it into consideration”.

Also present at the meeting were the Undersecretary of the Interior Wanda Ferro, the MEP Denis Nesci and the regional councilors Giovanni Calabrese and Daniela Iiriti.

Cannizzaro defined Arianna Meloni’s presence as “a demonstration of the party’s attention and the quality of the electoral campaign that will lead us to win in the first round”.
