Attention is undoubtedly directed towards the local elections now upon us. The outcome of the electoral consultation in the Vibo area could be useful in reopening a debate which, after a hot start to the year, is only temporarily dormant within the Democratic Party. On the gridiron for months has been the provincial secretary Teresa Esposito, elected in the spring of 2025 and for months now in the crosshairs of almost all the top Dem leaders in the area, especially due to the sudden change of line with respect to the action of the mayor Enzo Romeo.
Around Easter, a document was even brought out that essentially asked for his head, accompanied – according to precise rumors – by at least 40 signatures which, however, never came to light. Signatures, first and foremost, of the now large internal minority, made up of the reference member of the PD group leader in the Regional Council, Ernesto Alecci (member present not only in the capital municipality but, since yesterday, with Nico Console and Vincenzo La Caria, also within the Provincial Council where the group was established).
