The accusation essentially falls before the Gup, Claudio Treglia, in the abbreviated “Case Popolari” trial, the Carabinieri investigation which had targeted the illicit management of a whirlwind round of irregular assignments of public housing in the ancient Santa Caterina district, targeting an organization that allegedly “assigned” housing to people who were not entitled to it in exchange for money (on 14 February 2024 the Carabinieri blitz ended with 9 arrests and 11 homes seized).
