«Our intelligence services reported receiving data, including from American and European partners, about Russia preparing an attack with the Oreshnik missile. We are verifying this information. We are observing signs of preparation for a combined attack on Ukrainian territory, including Kiev, involving various types of weapons. Specified intermediate-range weapons could be used in such an attack. It is important to act responsibly on air warning signals, starting this evening. Russian madness truly knows no limits, so please protect your lives, use the shelters.” This is the warning issued by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The appeal to the United States and Europe: «A preventive response is needed»
“Second, we are drawing the attention of our partners in the United States and Europe to the fact that the use of such weapons and the continuation of this war also sets a global precedent for other potential aggressors,” he continues. If Russia is allowed to destroy lives on such a scale, then no deal will keep other similar hate-based regimes from aggression and attacks. We are counting on a response from the world and on a response that is not post factum, but preventive. Pressure must be put on Moscow not to expand the war.”
Zelensky: «Russia does not have permission for madness»
Finally, Zelensky adds that Ukraine is «preparing our air defense as much as possible, and we will respond fully to any Russian attack. We gave permission for a parade, but Russia does not have permission for madness. This war must end. Once again, please take care of yourselves and use the shelters tonight.”
