Reggio, the defeated Battaglia: “I take note of the will of the citizens, congratulations to Cannizzaro”

«I called Francesco Cannizzaro a few minutes ago to congratulate him and wish him good work». Thus Domenico Battaglia, outgoing mayor of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, in a press release. «I have had the honor and privilege of serving Reggio Calabria in recent months as acting mayor – highlighted Battaglia – and it has been an intense experience, lived every day with a great sense of responsibility, commitment and a lot of love for our city. I respectfully acknowledge the will expressed by citizens which represents the foundation of democracy. We are handing over to the new administration a healthy Municipality, with accounts in order, an operational administrative machine and numerous paths already underway on public works, services, urban regeneration and strategic planning. Soon I will meet the new mayor for the official handover.
