Six hundred interviews for four hundred jobs. The three-day event organized by the Calabria Region entitled “Work is calling” which aims to support employment has kicked off at the Catanzaro Fair. Inside the exhibition spaces, which today and will see alternating interventions by institutional representatives from the world of production and training in the coming days, there will be a matching area designed for the meeting between supply and demand of work. The first day saw the presence of 42 companies, as well as 2,400 students from regional schools. The regional councilor for Labor Policies, Giovanni Calabrese, highlighted that this is «an important initiative to put the results of years and months of work carried out on active policies on the ground. Calabria was a region where there was no talk of work, there was no law on active policies, which we implemented in a few months, there was no law for professional training, there was no strategic plan for work and employment. We are therefore starting to reap important results and today we are here to make 400 jobs available to the young people of Calabria; real, concrete and true work.” «Work is dignity, work is freedom and with the regional government, with President Occhiuto, we believe in the development of Calabria. There can be no development without employment. We often talk about the escape of young people from Calabria, we want to demonstrate that the opportunities are there”, concluded Calabrese.
