The adventure at the Kiklos Beach Volley 2026, May edition, of the “Bora Bora” team, made up of the athletes from Rockello Giovanni Lupis, Giuseppe Minnella and Rocco Calautti and the Modenese Mario Manna, ends in third place. An incredible and unexpected result, given the strong teams present for years in one of the most popular competitions beachers Italians and beyond.
For years, in fact, Kiklos, which hosts three summer events in the municipality of Bellaria Igea Marina, has been one of the main destinations for beach volleyball players, ready to grab the rich prize money made available by the organization in the two Gold and Silver scoreboards.
Among the various competitions present, in addition to the classic 2×2 which saw the triumph of the pairs Caminati-Casadei (Men) and Kapràl’ovà-Poszmikovà (Women), also the 4×4 in mixed mode and called “XtraFriday”, and the men’s one won by the “Bustine di Sabbia” team from Rimini led by the athlete Julio Cesar Do Nascimento, a volleyball player who brought, together with his partner Ahmed Tijan, in 2016, the Qatar National Beach Volleyball team at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
The “Bora Bora” team, after finishing in third place in Group B of the Men’s 4×4 draw, with the second best score (92 points scored), was admitted to the Silver Drawer as one of the top seeds in the round of 32. From then on, Minnella and his teammates reached the final stage with tenacious and authoritative performances, against well-equipped teams already present at past editions of Kiklos.
The adventure ended in the semi-final with a result of 25-27 against the Lugano team “Può accompanion solo”. A result which, however, allowed the team made up mainly of athletes from Roccello to place themselves on the podium of the Silver Board, in third place, in an experience which brought Locride to the top of one of the most well-known and well-known sporting events in the beach volleyball scene in Italy.
