Matteo Arnaldi passes the first round of Roland Garros. The Ligurian tennis player, currently number 104 in the men’s ranking, beat the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor, seeded number 29 in the main draw, at the end of a long and hard-fought match.
Success in four sets
Arnaldi won in four sets with a score of 6-7(9) 6-3 7-6(6) 6-3, after four hours and one minute of play. After losing the first set in the tie-break, the blue reacted solidly, winning the second set and then directing the challenge with success in the tie-break of the third.
Now there is Tsitsipas
In the second round Arnaldi will face the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who advanced after the withdrawal of the Frenchman Alexandre Muller during the second set.
