Good first for Luciano Darderi at Roland Garros. The Italian-Argentine passed the first round by beating the Austrian Sebastian Ofner, number 112 in the ATP ranking, in three sets with a score of 7-6(5) 6-2 6-3.

The match ended after two hours and 19 minutes of play.

Solid performance from number 17 ATP

Darderi, fresh from the semi-final reached two weeks ago at the Internazionali d’Italia, imposed himself with authority after a balanced first set decided in a tie-break.

From then on the Italian tennis player, currently number 17 in the men’s ranking, took control of the match, conceding little to his opponent and closing the match in three sets.

Waiting for the next opponent

In the second round Darderi will face the winner of the match between the Argentine Francisco Comesana and the American Ethan Quinn, a match still in progress.
