A Piazza Resistenza packed with families, citizens and enthusiasts was the setting for “In corde amoris – Music and choirs under the stars”, the great concert promoted by the Istituto Comprensivo Papanice Alfieri which, on the evening of 27 May, gave the city an intense moment of music, sharing and emotion.
The event, presented by Elena Cosentini, featured the 100 students of the orchestra of the “Beppe Vessicchio” Institute, directed by maestro Michele Catalano, together with the 100 children of the choir directed by Filomena Cannatelli and Anna Maria Cortese, composed of the children’s voices of the Albani and Codignola primaries, as well as the young dancers of the Pizzuta school, in an evening that managed to combine talent, passion and community spirit.
The performances of famous pieces of Italian and international music, from “Imagine” to “We Are the World”, up to “Ma il cielo è semper blu”, and of the religious tradition, such as “Negra ma bella” which thrilled the large audience present, were highly applauded. Great appreciation also for the choreographies of the children of the Pizzuta primary school, capable of transforming the square into a stage of colours, harmony and hope.
Particularly significant was the presence of Mayor Vincenzo Voce, on his first official outing after his re-election, who wanted to share an evening of culture and citizen participation with students, families and teachers.
During the event, the school director Concetta Masi expressed words of profound gratitude towards the students, teachers and ATA staff for the extraordinary work carried out during the school year and for the commitment made in staging the concert.

“The school – underlined the director – must be a bridge capable of uniting different realities through culture, art and music. I am proud to manage such a large institution full of positive energy, a school community that embraces the center and the outskirts of the city and which manages to transform differences into wealth and shared growth”.
The contribution of the musical instrument teachers, Simone De Vivo and Luca Campana (piano), Chiara Smerzi and Stefania Giorgio (violin), Rosa Franco and Maurizio Barone (flute), Rosario Lullo and Tommaso Biafora (accordion), Giuseppe Scavelli (guitar), Marco Pio Maiolo (clarinet), Michele Catalano (horn), Gianluca Sabetta (bassoon), Rossana Atzori (cello), was fundamental. who, with professionalism and dedication, accompanied the students on an artistic journey culminating in an evening of great educational and human value. The event was part of the cultural program of the Marian month
“In corde amoris” thus confirms itself not just as a concert, but as an authentic moment of community, capable of telling the most beautiful face of the school: that of inclusion, participation and the valorization of young talents.
