Christian Roseti is the winner of the fifth edition of the “Reno De Benedetto Award”, the award created by a group of journalists to honor the memory of the historic chronicler who chronicled Messina’s exploits for over forty years through his unmistakable radio commentary. The young striker from Cosenza prevailed with 20 overall points obtained through the voting of a prestigious jury of journalists from newspapers, TV, web and radio, called weekly to choose the best Messina footballer of the season. Roseti, who has just turned twenty, scored 7 goals during the season that ended a couple of weeks ago, the first among the “grown-ups”. In past editions the prize was won by Lamine Fofana, Andrea Mallamo, Ermanno Fumagalli and Marco Crimi.
“Receiving this award is an enormous honor for me, especially because it bears the name of Reno De Benedetto, a figure who dedicated his entire life to the story of Messina football. I hope I have been, at least in part, worthy of his passion and his history. I sincerely thank the club, the president Justin Davis, the vice-president Morris Pagniello and all the staff of ACR Messina 1900, who gave me the opportunity to experience my first season among the greats in such an important and important place. It was not a given to have this opportunity at the age of twenty. Sincere thanks go to the jury of journalists who chose me, to my teammates without whom none of my seven goals would have been possible, to the technical staff and to all the Messina fans who supported us throughout the season. Being the winner of this award together with Fofana, Mallamo, Fumagalli and Crimi makes me feel more responsible.
