A new earthquake shook the earth in Sicily, in the province and in the area of Messina. The shock occurred exactly at 12:08 and the epicenter was recorded 3 km from Librizzi. According to the very first automatic estimates and subsequent measurements from the operations room, the intensity of the earthquake was assessed with a magnitude between 3.0 and 3.5 on the Richter scale. The event, considering the magnitude and seismic nature of the area, was distinctly felt by the population both on the Messina shore and in various locations on the nearby Calabrian coast, in particular in the Reggio Calabria area.
