The number of victims of last night’s Russian raids on Ukraine is growing rapidly as rescuers continue to dig through the rubble. In Dnipro, where a three-storey building was hit, the bodies of a woman and an 8-year-old child were recovered from the rubble, bringing the number of deaths to 11. Ukrainsla Pravda reports this citing local authorities. Another 37 people were injured. In Kiev the number of people killed rose to 6 with 65 injured.
Kharkiv was also hit, by 15 attack drones and 2 missiles: at least ten people were injured in the city, including an 11-year-old girl. A Ukrainian drone attack killed one person in the Kursk region of Russia.
Zelensky: “Russian attack with 656 drones and 73 missiles, even a child died”
“Overnight, Russia launched 656 attack drones and 73 missiles of various types: ballistic, cruise, anti-ship against our citizens. A large-scale attack and an absolutely transparent statement from Russia: if Ukraine is not protected from ballistic and other missile attacks, these attacks will continue. Europe needs its own anti-missile defense, so that this war can finally end. And US help in supplying missiles to the Patriot”. Thus Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky confirmed the 13 deaths, including a child.
Moscow: “Massive attack on Ukrainian military facilities”
Moscow confirmed it had carried out “a massive attack” on Ukraine overnight, including using hypersonic missiles, but said it had hit military targets. The Ministry of Defense, quoted by Tass, states that drones and missiles launched from the air, land and sea were used against “defense industry facilities” in the regions of Kiev, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Khmelnytsky and Sumy, as well as fuel depots, transport infrastructure and military airports.
Ukrainian forces bombed Russia with 148 drones overnight, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry. In a note posted on its Telegram channel, the ministry states that all the unmanned aircraft have been shot down.
