You become entrepreneurs. And to do this it is necessary not only to have a good idea but, above all, to know how to develop and transform it into a successful project. With this objective, a real innovation gym promoted by Biotecnomed Scarl and financed by the Ministry of Health through the Health Operational Plan (POS) was created at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro.
The “Cal.hub.ria Lab” self-entrepreneurship orientation path was designed to enhance the talent and ideas born in university research laboratories, offering participants the opportunity to develop an entrepreneurial mentality and acquire practical skills related to the Business Model Canvas, the protection of intellectual property and technology transfer.
The initiative, divided into six training modules, represented an opportunity for professional and personal growth for students, doctoral students and postgraduates of the University, registering a full house of applications and arousing strong enthusiasm in the academic community.
Presentation of the projects and award ceremony
In recent days the participants illustrated ideas and projects to a jury composed of Giuseppe Viglietto, president of Biotecnomed; Pietro Falbo, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro, Crotone and Vibo Valentia; Luca Leone Noto, president of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Catanzaro; Antonia Abramo, General Director of IFM; and Basilio Vescio, researcher at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro.
The final phase of the project was introduced by Professor Maria Colurcio, full professor of Economics and Business Management at Umg and head of the AIWARE Research Centre, in the presence of the Magnificent Rector of the Magna Graecia University, Giovanni Cuda, the vice-rector Giuseppe Chiarella, the project manager Daniele Torella and the General Director of Biotecnomed, Simona Lombardi.
The “New-tale” group took first place with the “Argo Gym” project. Second place went to the “Macedonia” team with the “Livia” project, while third place went to the “Mosaico” group with the “Adero” project.
A conference to present the best projects
In consideration of the value of the ideas proposed by young people, a conference dedicated to the presentation of the best projects will take place in the next few days at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro.
Biotecnomed and Magna Graecia University thus confirm their joint commitment to promoting innovation in the area, with the aim of enhancing young talents and transforming knowledge into economic and social value.
