The Municipality of Capizzi will also present its own form of civil action in the trial for the murder of the young Giuseppe Di Dio, the 16-year-old killed on the evening of November 1st last by a bullet fired by the 20-year-old Giacomo Frasconà Filaro.
This was decided by the municipal administration of the Nebroid center which decided to confer the legal task, free of charge, on the lawyer Salvatore Timpanaro, from Nicosia.
«A very serious criminal act which led to the death of the young Giuseppe Di Dio with evident and profound disturbance of the entire Capito community», we read in the resolution approved by the council chaired by the mayor Giuseppe Leonardo Principato Trosso who had already named the municipal playground after the young victim in recent months.
«The gravity of the disputed facts, and the resonance of the same in the local community, make it appropriate and necessary for the Municipality of Capizzi to take a clear and formalized procedural position by establishing a civil party – adds the executive – aimed at protecting the image, decorum, safety and civil cohesion of the community».
In addition to Giacomo Frasconà Filaro, who opened fire into the crowd to hit another young man from the area with whom there had been previous disagreements, fatally reaching Giuseppe Di Dio and wounding a 22-year-old, his father Antonino and his younger brother Mario are also in the dock, accused in connection with having accompanied him by car to the places.
For the three, as already published in these same columns, a hearing is scheduled for July 23rd at the Court of Enna on the request for a dry summary trial advanced by the defender, lawyer Felice Lo Furno. The lawyer Giovanni Palermo is representing the victim’s family members in the proceedings.
