The Messina Municipal Police Command announces that, as part of the prevention of road accidents, from Monday 29 June to Sunday 5 July 2026, speed checks will continue with speed cameras in the locations identified by the prefectural decree, together with the detection of infringements on parking restrictions using the “Scout” device.
Where the speed cameras will be located
The speed controls will affect the state road 114 in the sections of Giampilieri-Giampilieri Marina (from km 15,000 to km 15,700), Galati (from km 9,100 to km 10,000), Briga Marina (from km 13,100 to km 13,700) and Pistunina (from km 5,200 to km 5,800). On the state road 113 the surveys will concern San Saba (from km 26,000 to km 26,600), Spartà (from km 21,400 to km 22,400) and Mortelle (from km 11,700 to km 12,200). The devices will also be active in via Circuito Torre Faro, in via Consolare Pompea (from km 7,500 to km 8,000) and in viale Giostra, in the stretch between via San Jachiddu and the «Maiorana» school institute.
Checks on parking restrictions with the «Scout» device
The detection of irregular stops with the «Scout» device will instead involve the city center: Corso Cavour, Piazza Duomo (pedestrian area), Corso Garibaldi, Via Cesare Battisti, Viale Boccetta, Via Consolato del Mare, Via Argentieri and Via XXIV Maggio.
The Command’s appeal to motorists
The Municipal Police Command recommends respecting the speed limits on all roads, remembering that excessive speed is one of the main causes that aggravate the severity of road accidents. We also invite you to comply with the rules on no parking, with particular attention to cases of parking in double rows, on sidewalks, in preferential lanes, on cycle paths and at pedestrian crossings.
