The temporary closure of the Grimaldi post office to allow for renovation work is causing inconvenience for citizens. For this reason, Mayor Paolo Stilla is once again asking Poste Italiane to activate a mobile counter that guarantees continuity of service during the works period.
«The post office represents a fundamental social and economic support for our community: from the payment of pensions to the collection of correspondence up to the management of daily financial services. This is why its temporary closure is already causing serious inconvenience to citizens”, says the mayor.
According to Stilla, the request to install a container or an equipped camper, already tested in the past, has so far not been accepted. The Municipality, he adds, had also expressed its willingness to identify a suitable public area to host the structure. «We hope that Poste Italiane will be able to think again after our public appeal», he concludes.
The inconveniences reported by citizens
The president of the municipal council, Ramona Bruni, also intervenes on the matter, reporting that she receives daily reports from residents forced to go to the post offices of neighboring municipalities for ordinary operations.
«Grimaldi has always represented a historical and economic point of reference for the entire Savuto area. For this reason, Poste Italiane has the duty to guarantee the presence of the service in the area for the entire period of the works”, claims Bruni, announcing that he will bring the issue to the attention of the City Council, the parliamentary delegation and the competent bodies.
