The protest of Lazio fans towards the ownership continues to grow and a protest demonstration is planned in Rome on 2 July. Among the reasons for discontent there is also Claudio Lotito’s choice to support Reggina, a topic that returned to the center of the debate after the presence in Reggio Calabria of Armando Calveri, general secretary of Lazio and historic trusted man of the Biancoceleste president.
Calveri’s post on LinkedIn
For the first time it was Calveri himself who intervened publicly, entrusting a long message to LinkedIn in which he rejected the reconstructions that had circulated in the last few hours.
«My presence in Reggio Calabria is not a mysterious fact nor, much less, can it be transformed – with a certain narrative ease – into a signal of distraction from my duties in the SS Lazio.»
Calveri recalled his bond with the city of the Strait, where he was born and where he also took his first steps in football by wearing the amaranth shirt and then moving behind the desk to become manager.
«Reggio Calabria is the city of my origins, of my affections and of a significant part of my human and professional journey. It is a city to which I remain linked by an authentic personal history and by a sporting past lived with the amaranth shirt.»

In his speech, the manager explained that returning to the city and maintaining relationships with the area simply represents the continuation of a personal bond.
«Returning there, maintaining relationships with the territory and carefully following its dynamics does not constitute an anomaly: if anything, it represents the natural continuity of an identity bond that requires no further explanation.»
Calveri also specified that all this “has no impact on my responsibilities in SS Lazio”, reiterating that he carries out his role “with full dedication, continuity, confidentiality and sense of the institutions”.
«Proud of Lotito’s support for Reggina»
The final part of the message is dedicated to Claudio Lotito, for whom Calveri has publicly expressed his support.
«At the same time, I feel I must express my maximum support to President Claudio Lotito, to whom I am sincerely attached on a human and professional level, in a moment that requires responsibility, cohesion and clarity. His choice to support, in addition to SS Lazio, Reggio Calabria and Reggina represents, for me, a source of authentic pride.»
Words that arrive at a moment of strong tension in the Biancoceleste environment, with some of the fans announcing a demonstration of dissent against the owners.
