The public meeting “What future for the Urban Area?”, initially scheduled for Thursday 9 July in the Tokyo Hall of the Museum of the Present in Rende, has been postponed. This was communicated by the Reformist Federation of Rende, explaining that the postponement was necessary due to the institutional commitments of the mayor of Cosenza.

The initiative was promoted with the aim of opening an institutional discussion on the future of the Cosenza urban area, addressing strategic issues such as infrastructure, mobility, services, economic development and forms of collaboration between Municipalities, with particular reference to the Union of Municipalities project.

The hope for an institutional comparison

The Reformist Federation expressed the hope of being able to reschedule the meeting as soon as possible, considering it essential to involve citizens in a public debate on the choices that will affect the future of the entire territory.

The press release also highlights the hope that the path started by the Municipality of Rende, which has already prepared and approved a draft Statute of the Union of Municipalities, can soon also be discussed by the Cosenza Municipal Council, thus encouraging an institutional and public discussion on a topic considered decisive for the development of the urban area.
