Sixteen provisions of Ban on Access to Sports Events (DASPO.) and three complaints for violation of the provisions imposed by the Police Commissioner. This is the balance of the activities carried out at the end of the 2025-2026 football season to combat behavior capable of compromising public order and safety during sporting events in the province.
The measures were adopted following several incidents that occurred during the last sports season during Serie D and minor categories football matches.
Sixteen sports Daspo issued by the Police Commissioner
The bans on access to sporting events were proposed by DIGOS staff, while the relevant investigation was handled by the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters.
The measures adopted concern facts attributable to episodes of violence that occurred during some football events played in the past sports season.
Three people reported for violating the Daspo
Following the issuance of the provisions, the DIGOS operators launched specific information-investigative activities which made it possible to ascertain the alleged non-compliance with the requirements imposed by the Police Commissioner by three recipients of the Daspo.
For this reason, the three people were handed over in a state of freedom to the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office for the violation of the legislation protecting the regular conduct of sporting events.
Possible worsening of the measures
In addition to the reporting to the judicial authorities, the preliminary investigation phase is currently underway aimed at evaluating the possible aggravation of the measures already issued against the interested parties.
The activities are part of the broader mechanism set up to guarantee the safety of sporting events and prevent the recurrence of episodes that could put public order at risk.
Clarification on the stage of the procedure
It is specified that the measures adopted as part of the investigative activities do not imply any definitive responsibility of the subjects involved. The proceedings are in the phases required by law and, with regard to persons subjected to investigations or accused, the principle of presumption of innocence remains valid until any irrevocable criminal sentence or decree of conviction.
