A city to be experienced twelve months a year through culture, music and theatre. This is the philosophy that inspired the program of summer events and the 2026-2027 theater season presented by the municipal administration, a program that aims to strengthen the image of Milazzo as a cultural reference point of the province and to increase its tourist attractiveness.
«This year – explains mayor Pippo Midili – the definition of the calendar of events was conditioned by the electoral date as it was not possible to plan initiatives of this type before the May vote. The only exception was made for Massimo Ranieri who will be at the Castle on August 29th.”
The start of the events will take place on August 2nd with the evocative jazz concert at dawn, now in its fourth edition, which will see the Castle light up at 5 in the morning with one of the most original events on the Sicilian scene.
From 10 to 12 August the spotlight will once again be on the fortified Citadel or on the Mish Mash Festival, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary, confirming itself as one of the most important musical events in Southern Italy. Ditonellapiaga, Tony Pitony, Tutti Fenomeni, the Dutch band Yin Yin and numerous other artists from the Italian and international independent scene will take to the stage.

Ample space was also dedicated to cultural events. In addition to the “Milazzo Cult Festival”, promoted by the Pro Loco, with book presentations and debates, the proposal of the “Città Invisibili” association characterized by various literary meetings is interesting.
Traditional events have been confirmed, from the Vaccarella Fish Festival on 8 August to the Ice Cream Festival, scheduled for the penultimate week of September. The program of Boxing Day celebrations is also rich. Two protagonists of Italian music will take to the stage: Ermal Meta (4 September) and Rocco Hunt (5 September). On 8 and 9 September the popular chamber music proposed by the “Milazzo Chamber Music Festival” returns to the Castle.

Then in autumn the usual theater season will begin at the “Trifiletti” on which the Midili Administration is focusing a lot. The first appointment will be November 21st with Claudio Casisa. On 13 December Iva Zanicchi with “Viva la mamma”, a show that marks the return to the theater of the famous singer and presenter. The comedy “Guess who comes to cen” will follow, starring Cesare Bocci and Vittoria Belvedere, one of the most popular events on the programme. The season will continue with other prose and comedy shows until 9 April, when Sergio Friscia will take the stage with “Oggi è di nuova Oggi”, to end on 14 May with Enrico Guarneri protagonist of “Fiat voluntas Dei”.
