The police carried out extraordinary territorial control activities in the cities of Reggio Calabria and Naples.

In the city of Reggio Calabria the checks involved the Marconi district; in Naples the activity took place in the Bagnoli district, particularly in the nightlife areas. Overall, during the operations, 1,053 people were identified, 517 vehicles were checked, 11 searches were carried out, narcotics and money were seized.

In particular, in Reggio Calabria, 392 people were identified, of which 78 with police records, 15 checkpoints were carried out and 195 cars were subjected to inspection. A person was also arrested flagrantly for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing.

During the operation, the affected area was cordoned off and made safe, allowing the operators to proceed with the control activities and scheduled home and local searches.

Overall, 392 people were identified, of which 78 with police records, 15 checkpoints were carried out and 195 cars were inspected.

Particular attention was also paid to common places in the buildings, such as stairwells, elevators and other areas of possible concealment. During the searches, two packages containing narcotic substances such as marijuana were found, with a total weight of 1.99 grams, which were subsequently seized by unknown persons.

Of particular importance is the outcome of the search activities, during which the operators proceeded to arrest a person in flagrante delicto for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing.

During a personal search of a subject, 28 grams of narcotic substance such as cocaine were found and seized, as well as the sum of 3,245 euros in cash.

It should be noted that the proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase which, for the suspects, the principle of not guilty applies until a final conviction.

For the occasion, personnel from the State Police, soldiers from the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza were employed.

The intervention is part of the broader territorial control system set up to strengthen the presence of the State in the areas most exposed to illegal phenomena, through coordinated action by the Police Forces aimed at guaranteeing safety, legality and protection of the community.

In Naples, 661 people were identified, 322 vehicles checked, and 51 violations of the Highway Code were reported. A person was reported for illicit possession of narcotic substances, and 2 people were administratively sanctioned because they were caught carrying out the illicit activity of illegal parking attendants.

Finally, 7 commercial activities were checked, 3 of which were administratively sanctioned for illegal occupation of public land.
