Among the 16 elected councilors (in addition to the mayor Antonio Barile) there are two “heretics” or, if you prefer, misunderstood.
The first is Marco Gentile, 709 preferences (absolute city record) who headed the Forza Italia list; the other, however, is Enzo Sellaro, elected on the “Barile mayor” list and second most voted with 272 preferences, after Giovanna Francesca Caruso who totaled 394 votes.
Gentile and Sellaro, albeit from different positions, experience an anomalous condition of bitterness, exclusion and, perhaps, misunderstood. Discomfort and dissent in their faces is palpable. Gentile, if Ambrogio had won the ballot, he would have been councilor by “order” of Gianluca Gallo. This did not happen and Ambrogio, instead of calming down by leading the large centre-right group, asked for and obtained the position of president of the Assizes. Presidency that Gentile was aiming for, since he was the most voted of all 220 candidates on the 14 lists.
