He is ready to respect the indications of Forza Italia, his party, but places some limits on Sergio Costanzo, who has been widely reported as ready to take the field with his own civic force. Contacted by the Gazzetta del Sud, the Italian city councilor explains his intentions in view of the electoral campaign that will lead the city to the vote for the local elections in 2027. Meanwhile, he starts from the consideration that the centre-right has not yet met to discuss the issue but immediately clarifies that “if the mayoral candidate is assigned to the League, I will go alone with my own civic list”. Therefore, Costanzo puts a first firm point: “no” to the insignia of the Carroccio on the figure of the possible mayor of the regional capital.
Then he moves on to the centre-right, called to meet as soon as possible and, above all, “to identify a figure of great importance”. For Costanzo, in fact, this is a fundamental step for the future of the capital: «An important name is necessary to take back our city: we are behind Reggio Calabria and Cosenza, little calculated by the University and the Region. The big names of the Catanzaro centre-right and the provincial leaders of the coalition must therefore make a commitment”.
