A fire is currently affecting the city of Messina. A column of thick, dark smoke is rising from the Gazzi area. The acrid smell, which can be perceived for kilometers, has also reached the city centre.
The cause would be a waste fire on the railway near the Madonna di Loreto. Two teams of firefighters are working on site.
