Almost three kilos of hashish and over half a kilo of cocaine were seized by the Guardia di Finanza near the Messina Centrale railway station. The operation, conducted by the soldiers of the Messina Group with the support of the dog units, led to the arrest of the alleged person responsible for drug trafficking.
The behavior of a man who had just gotten off a bus coming from Northern Italy made the financiers suspicious. Thanks to the sniff of the drug-sniffing dog Haidy, the military identified a hand baggage attributable to the man who, at the sight of the Fiamme Gialle, attempted to walk away. He was immediately stopped.
During the check, two packages were found hidden inside the same number of hand bags. One contained 30 blocks of hashish, for a total weight of almost three kilograms; the other contained over 500 grams of cocaine. The total value of the narcotic was estimated at approximately 130 thousand euros.
Further investigations made it possible to establish that the man is of Moroccan origins, homeless and the recipient of two expulsion orders.
Based on the information collected, the suspect was arrested in flagrante delicto on charges of drug trafficking and transferred to Gazzi prison.
