Sicily is in second place among the Italian regions, surpassed only by Calabria, but there is nothing to celebrate, because the special ranking concerns the delays accumulated by large companies in paying for works carried out under subcontracting by smaller ones. This is what emerges from the new survey by the CGIA of Mestre, which on the island, in relation to commercial transactions between companies in the second quarter of this year, records only 27.2% of clients who paid suppliers within the contract terms, with macro production companies leading the way among defaulters, while micro and medium-sized businesses honored the deadlines more often. This is a bar very far from that recorded in Lombardy, first in the ranking with 51.6%, followed by Emilia Romagna and Veneto.
Sicily stands out, negatively, even on a provincial scale, with Agrigento, Messina, Palermo, Trapani, Caltanissetta and Syracuse among the last ten territories of Italy, very far from the trio of the most virtuous, Sondrio, Bergamo and Belluno.
