A timely intervention by the Carabinieri of Campo Calabro made it possible to arrest a man, held responsible for an attack against his partner, who was five months pregnant. The episode occurred following an argument over trivial reasons, which degenerated into violence. The request for help, received on the emergency number 112, triggered the intervention of the military, who reached the house and proceeded to arrest the man, who was found in a state of psychophysical alteration, also attributable to the intake of alcoholic substances.
According to what was immediately reconstructed, the partner hit the woman with a belt, even at the belly level. The victim, five months pregnant, was immediately rescued by 118 personnel, alerted by the Carabinieri. The health checks carried out did not reveal any consequences on the pregnancy. The man, however, was arrested for the disputed conduct and, at the end of the formalities, brought before the judicial authority of Reggio Calabria.
The Judge validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure against the suspect of a ban on approaching the offended person, with the application of the electronic control device.
