The deputy general prosecutor, Marisa Manzini, asked the appeal judges to confirm the 21-year prison sentence against Francesco Adduci, 56, accused of the double murder of Maurizio Scorza, 57, and his partner of Maghreb origins, Hanene Hendli, 38, which occurred on the afternoon of April 4, 2022 between Cassano and Castrovillari, in the Gammellone district. The word now passes to Adduci’s defenders, the lawyers Cesare Badolato and Giancarlo Greco. The accused has always protested his innocence. Only a few weeks ago his son Giuseppe Scroza, 34 years old, was killed, with a barrage of bullets fired from a machine gun, inside the offices of a private company in Cassano.
The investigators would have arrived in Adduci thanks to the cross-referencing of the images shot by the video surveillance systems installed in the local streets and the examination of the “cells” crossed by Scorza’s cell phone which would have allowed the Carabinieri investigators to reconstruct the couple’s movements. Not only that: the 57-year-old killed was under wiretap and a message from Adduci remained on his mobile phone inviting him to meet for the delivery of a lamb. All the clues lead to the breeder and agricultural entrepreneur who ended up under investigation and then sent to trial for complicity in a double murder. According to the DDA of the regional capital, he would have lured the victim into a deadly trap as part of a plan devised by hitmen and instigators.
