Intervention of the Fire Brigade yesterday evening, in via Fortunato Seminara, in Cinquefrondi, to rescue three people, father, mother and daughter, who had fallen ill inside a cellar where the must had been decanted. Upon the arrival of the Fire Brigade team from the Polistena Detachment, the three occupants already showed symptoms attributable to the inhalation of gas developed in the environment from the fermentation of the must. The operating staff, considering the possible presence of a dangerous atmosphere, wore self-contained breathing apparatus and entered the cellar safely.

The Fire Brigade then carried out the first rescue operations, providing breathable air through the self-contained breathing apparatus supplied, and subsequently oxygen through a cylinder made available by the healthcare staff of Suem 118. At the same time, the room was ventilated and the three occupants were transported outside, to a safe area, where they were entrusted to the care of healthcare staff.

Suem 118 arranged for the three to be subsequently transferred to the hospital in Polistena for the necessary investigations and treatment. The Carabinieri of the local station and the staff of Suem 118 also intervened on site.
