Iran says it is ready to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days, rather than the seven initially envisaged in the talks, provided that Washington accepts Tehran’s requests. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei. “The possibility of implementing this plan in two days is a further sign of Iran’s good faith,” the spokesperson said, underlining that “the exchange of messages continues” through the mediators. Baghaei reiterated the link between the conditions posed by Tehran and the timing of the intervention: «If Tehran’s requests are satisfied, it will be possible to restore security in the Strait of Hormuz and relaunch the negotiation process in a very short time».
