Six municipal councilors, three belonging to the majority and three to the opposition, simultaneously resigned from the municipal council of Zambrone, a town in the Vibonese area. The resignation not only determines the fall of the municipal administration led by mayor Corrado L’Andolina (one year ahead of the natural expiration of the mandate), but also the forfeiture of L’Andolina from the presidency of the Province of Vibo Valentia, a role held as mayor.
Andolina had been at the helm of the Municipality of Zambrone for two consecutive mandates, the first started in 2016 and the second in 2021. The Municipality of Zambrone will now be entrusted to a prefectural commissioner, who will remain in office until the first available electoral round. For the presidency of the Province of Vibo, a new president will have to be elected with second level elections (only the mayors, councilors and municipal councilors of the Vibo area vote).
