One press conference after another. Cateno De Luca returns to the ARS press room to present a new member (he calls them the “pioneers” of the Liberation Government) to his political project: this is Filippo Tripoli, mayor of Bagheria for eight years at the head of a civic list. Citizenship yes, but with a clear Christian Democratic imprint: like Salvatore Fanara di Favara, protagonist the day before, Tripoli’s last political membership had also been Cuffarian. From the DC to the South he calls North, to strengthen the path towards the regional elections and, probably, the “Sturzian” list of Liberi e Forti, the name that De Luca will give to the group that will soon be formed at the Ars, even if yesterday there was no talk of a certain candidacy.
«The choice of Filippo is strategic for us – underlined De Luca, alongside the faithful Danilo Lo Giudice –, not only because Bagheria represents one of the most important realities in the province of Palermo, but because Filippo embodies that political and institutional figure that we consider essential to have in parliaments. We are building qualified lists not only from an electoral perspective, but in terms of history, skills, seriousness and strategic vision.”
For Tripoli «the project that Cateno is carrying out together with South calls North represents the opportunity to demonstrate that this experience can have a meaning even beyond the borders of our city». Other memberships will arrive in the coming weeks: «The objective – reiterated De Luca – is to build an autonomous, civic and progressive project, based on the protagonism of the territories and local administrators. Here is our “New Camp”, we will now see who will be really ready to join the electorate.”
