Messina also celebrates at the “Franco Scoglio”. First home success in the championship for the Giallorossi, who beat Gymnica Scordia 5-1 in a match dominated in the first half and controlled in the second. Excellent local start and, in the 2nd minute, the post, with a deflection from Cirnigliaro, denies Burzio the advantage. The midfielder made amends in the 11th minute when he headed Guerriero’s cross into the net. Two minutes later Burzio serves a backheel assist for Kragl’s left foot for the second goal. Downhill match for Messina, who tries again with a shot from Kragl, lifted for a corner, and strikes in the 24th minute with Burzio who, following an error from Cirnigliaro, receives the ball from Tanasa and scores the hat trick. For the Etna players only a free kick from D’Emanuele, deflected into a corner by Coco.
In the second half, however, Scordia started better and, after just over a minute, shortened with Famà’s lob and subsequently became dangerous with D’Emanuele and Taimech. Messina, however, managed without any particular problems: in the 31st minute, Palumbo’s winning diagonal made it 4-1, while in the 47th minute, Varela’s header, following a cross from the excellent Burzio, sealed the final 5-1.
Messina wins their first home win and remains at the top, with 10 points after four matches, in the company of Nebros.
