Jannik Sinner begins his week number 95 as world number one, while Alexander Zverev is close to overtaking. The German, involved in the ATP 500 in Vienna, has a specific objective: by reaching the quarter-finals he would be certain of climbing to the top of the rankings on November 2nd, for the first time in his career.
Sinner leads the ranking with 10,450 points, ahead of Zverev’s 9,760, winner of Roland Garros and the US Open this year. Carlos Alcaraz remains in third place, with 5,610 points.
Fils rises to eighth place, Cobolli remains sixth
The semi-final reached in Brussels allows Arthur Fils to gain two positions and reach the new personal best at number 8. Alex de Minaur is tenth, while Flavio Cobolli maintains sixth position and confirms himself as the second Italian in the rankings.
Eight Italians remain in the top hundred. Luciano Darderi keeps number 23 and Lorenzo Musetti 26.
Musetti wins in Lyon, Bellucci gains two positions
The title won in Lyon, the first in four years, is worth 250 points to Musetti. However, at the same time, the 180 obtained in last season’s semi-final in Vienna comes out of his ranking: the positive balance is not enough to improve the position.
Mattia Bellucci is the only Italian in the top 100 to rise: he gains two places and is number 66. Matteo Arnaldi remains 36th, Matteo Berrettini drops five positions to number 48 and Lorenzo Sonego loses two places, falling to 91st.
