The Italian derby in the first round at the “Erste Bank Open”, ATP 500 staged on indoor hard courts in Vienna, Austria, with a prize pool of 2,797,985 euros, goes to Luciano Darderi. The number 23 in the world overcame Matteo Arnaldi (number 36 ATP) with a score of 7-5 6-2, in a match evenly balanced until 5-5, and then scored by a partial of 8 games to two by the tennis player native of Villa Gesell. In three appearances in Vienna, Darderi has always won the first round, but has never gone further: to try to make it, in the round of 16 he will have to beat the winner of the match between Tommy Paul (number 14 ATP and number 7 in the tournament) and Andrey Rublev (number 22 ATP).
