«I welcome the appointment with pleasure and with the awareness of the responsibility it entails». Thus Riccardo Latella, new metropolitan commissioner of Gioventù Nazionale, the youth movement of FdI, who «thanks the national president Fabio Roscani and the national executive Nicola Caruso for their trust, Pasquale Oronzio, who represents the history of the youth movement in our city, and Mario Russo and Emanuela Arena, who preceded me in this role, for the work done».
«The latest municipal elections – reasons Latella – have demonstrated how the new generations are already protagonists of Reggio’s political life, as evidenced by the presence of numerous young people in the City Council. As the first of the non-elected on the Brothers of Italy list, I intend to give continuity to the heritage of relationships, experiences and ideas built during the electoral campaign. We are in all respects the present, as well as the future, and we want to contribute as protagonists to the choices that concern the city. We will give – continues Latella – new impetus to Gioventù Nazionale, strengthening its roots and involving new energies, without dispersing the value of those who have contributed to its history. The movement reopens its doors to all boys and girls who recognize themselves in the values and political path of Giorgia Meloni. A community in which everyone can make ideas, skills and passion available. We will be firmly at the side of FdI, Italy’s leading party, which can also count on a large and deep-rooted team of administrators in our territory. A team that has already demonstrated the ability to synthesize, assume responsibility and look beyond party boundaries, concretely supporting the administrative action of Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro, with whom he is already changing the face of Reggio.”
National Youth will have its own structure, «capable of identifying priorities, developing proposals and promoting initiatives that can also be implemented through discussion and collaboration with institutional representatives. We do not intend to limit ourselves only to youth issues: we are a generation of students, professionals, workers and entrepreneurs who already contribute to the life of the community today. It is a commitment that is part of the national tradition of the movement, which attributes value to the formation of a new ruling class and the ability of young people to assume responsibility.
We will open a constant dialogue with the institutions and with the associative, productive, professional and cultural realities of the territory, bringing skills, ideas and innovation. We will ensure – concludes Latella – that Gioventù Nazionale returns to being a lively, organized presence capable of concretely contributing to the growth of Reggio”.
