Ukraine will not accept a neutral status or limitations on the size of its army under possible peace agreements. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an interview with Tsn-Tyzhden, broadcast by the Ukrainian media.

Kiev conditions

«The main aspect is that we cannot talk about the neutrality of our state. And we should not do this, our vision, in principle, coincides with the American one, we cannot talk about limiting the Ukrainian army,” Zelensky said, specifying that security guarantees for Ukraine cannot be dictated by the Russian side.

Discussions between leaders in the territories

The president then reiterated the points that Kiev considers non-negotiable, distinguishing them from the territorial question: «Therefore, the conclusions are clear: the limits of our army and the neutrality of Ukraine are non-negotiable. The issue of territories is a red line that can only be discussed at the level of leaders.”
