The works and memory of Raffaele Crovara at the center of an event dedicated to his human and artistic journey. The exhibition “Raffaele Crovara: A life for art” opens today, 31 October, at 5pm, at the Diocesan Museum of Cosenza, which can be visited throughout the month of November.
The exhibition will be hosted in the Hall of Coats of Arms, in the premises of the former Diocesan Seminary, between the Archbishop’s Palace and the Cathedral. The opening ceremony will combine the presentation of the works with a moment of commemoration, through interventions and testimonies.
The memory between painting, history and encounters
The meeting will be moderated and the speaker will be Don Salvatore Fuscaldo, director of the Diocesan Museum and parish priest of Sant’Aniello in Cosenza. Flavio Nimpo, writer, poet and teacher of literary subjects, Latin and Greek at the “Bernardino Telesio” classical high school, and the historian and writer Vincenzo Napolillo will speak with him.
The portrait of the artist will be enriched by contributions from Maria Cristina Parise Martirano, president of the Dante Alighieri Committee of Cosenza; Rachele Celebre, president of the Southern Italy Transplant Association; of the painter Rosellina Prete and of Francesco Chiarello, founding member of the Handicap & non solo association, playwright, writer and poet.
The exhibition will offer the opportunity to get closer to Crovara’s pictorial and creative production, accompanying the rediscovery of the works with the story of his life experience.
