A good pizza for everyone, even for those who cannot see it. It is the last, significant novelty signed Enzo PiedimonteMaster of the Neapolitan pizza maker now Messina by adoption, who will introduce the menu to Braille from next week to his place “Piedimonte 1.0” on the Rodia promenade.
“I thought of meeting the needs of partially sighted and blind customers,” explains the entrepreneur, always attentive to reception. The Braille menu, complete with all dishes and related prices, will be officially presented to the press and customers on the occasion of a special evening dedicated to inclusion and sensory experience.
The idea was born thanks to a comparison with the city councilor for trade Massimo Finocchiaro and Antonella Rigano, partner of the Italian Union of Blind and president of the “Global Social inclusive ASD”. “Those who come to my place must feel comfortable – underlines Piedimonte – inclusion is also built through small concrete gestures like this”.
“It is a way – adds Antonella Rigano – to make the blind also understand what it means to orient themselves in our world, developing the sense of touch”.
The initiative confirms the role of “Piedimonte 1.0” as a reference point of the Messina restaurant: already awarded by Gambero Rosso and inserted among the excellence of 50 top pizza, it is also the first in Sicily to have received the certification for pizza fried by the true association of Neapolitan pizza.
