And we will tell them ». Giuliano Peparini presents his new creation, “Iliad”, which debuts in the world premiere on Friday 4 July at the Greek Theater in Syracuse. Three evenings, up to 6, sold out, to stage an immortal text with the translation of Francesco Morosi and the music by Beppe Vessicchio.

«Like Troy, a prison is a closed place where rival groups (the Greeks and the Trojans, or the prison gangs) face in a continuous conflict. In the Iliad, the war is guided by concepts of honor, revenge and respect between warriors. In prison, unwritten rules and codes of honor determine power, respect and retaliation relationships. In the Greek and Trojan fields there are garments. in prison, leader who dictate the law within the factions. In the Iliad, the war ends only with the destruction of Troy, and many characters die. In prison, for many the only way out is to serve the sentence to the end or, in some cases, succumb to internal violence. From Homer, human dynamics have not changed much ».
