The awarding of the sports business branch of Acr Messina to Racing City Group includes among the assets sold company names, distinctive signs, brands (net of the ongoing dispute with the Cooperative Society for ownership), contracts with members, employees, sponsors and suppliers but also movable assets and equipment owned by the club.

The sports company does not include the sports title, the recognition of which in the FIGC will have to be done separately. Specifically, the successful tenderer must possess a series of requirements set by the deadline of the notarial deed for the transfer of the sports company. Among these, there is first and foremost the need to provide a suretyship of 640 thousand to cover the pending sports debt. A figure to cover but which to be paid will actually drop to around 290 thousand euros with the enforcement of the guarantee deposited last year in Lega Pro by Pietro Sciotto. However, any sporting debts accrued after 30 June 2025 will be added to this amount.

Economically, the payment of the balance price after the deposit has been paid must take place within 15 days of the award, under penalty of forfeiture. All costs for the continuation of the provisional exercise, currently extended until November 5th, are borne by the new owner, net of what is already currently in cash obviously. Tax charges relating to the purchase of the asset must also be paid. In short, there is already a lot of work to do and commitments to honor on the horizon for Racing City Group.

The delegated judge or the curator may suspend the sale and the award within the next ten days if they receive an irrevocable improved purchase offer for an amount increased by 10% of the award price. In this case, a tender will be held between the successful tenderer and the bidder. Therefore, for any interested parties who did not participate in the auction, there would still be a “parachute”.
