Racing City Group takes command of Messina. Provisional award, awaiting the definitive takeover in the next few days and then the federal change to take possession of the sports branch as well. After the court proceedings that took place this morning, we heard from Justin Davis, CEO of RCG. Here are his first words as the club’s new owner: “Messina has an incredible history and identity, a name that means something in Italian football. In recent months we have explored an opportunity where we could bring structure, credibility and a long-term project. Messina immediately stood out in our eyes. A proud city, passionate fans and a sporting culture that deserves stability and ambition.”
On the current situation and the future mission: “We all want to leave amateurism as soon as possible. But the real objective is to build something that lasts over time, a structure capable of rising and remaining, not just a one-year success. We are not here to make noise, we are here to work. Convincing the fans why we need them. If we remain united, I am sure we can bring Messina back to where it deserves to be.”
