Today, however, something will happen: at 11.30 the envelopes relating to the offers for the acquisition of the sports branch of ACR Messina will be opened, after the publication of the public notice. The deadline for submission expired yesterday.
The basis is represented by the 200 thousand euro proposal put forward by the Racing City Group of Justin Davis and Morris Pagniello, who should be represented at Palazzo Piacentini by the lawyer Raimondo Adamo. Will there be alternatives? The curator Maria Di Renzo will check whether other paper or electronic offers have been received. If there are other valid initiatives, the tender will be launched with mixed synchronous mode based on the highest offer. The good will be awarded without there being any further bids within 3 minutes.
Whoever takes command, initially on a provisional basis while waiting for the steps that will complete the process to materialize, will have to guarantee, among other things, a guarantee of approximately 640 thousand euros to cover sports debts: a necessary guarantee, together with further requirements, to obtain affiliation at a federal level. The attribution of the title, in fact, was excluded from the business complex for sale for purely technical reasons. That amount will have to be insured, although in practice the sum to be paid out should amount to less than half: approximately 290 thousand euros, i.e. how much will remain to be paid for salaries and contributions after the enforcement of the guarantee deposited last year in Lega Pro.
So, here we are. The time for assumptions is over and we will know who is ready to invest in Messina and its warm place, as demonstrated once again in the Strait derby. With numbers and a unique passion: over 4000 appearances for a last team (because penalized by 14 points, otherwise they would be second) in Serie D and without certainties about the future. We will know who came forward and for what purposes. And we will also know if the many rumors, circulated as per tradition in such circumstances, will have remained so. Dead end chatter about the only thing that matters: facts. Messina is there, in the hands of the Court, with no property to deal with, with a clear financial situation. There are no shortcuts or interpretations. You just have to believe it and prove it.
